Urgent Repair: Zimbra Sendmail

Problem: Our zimbra mail server (unsupported free version) has crashed. This stand-alone linux machine handles around ten email accounts for three different websites. Technical: Running Ubuntu distro, zimbra 4.0.4._GA_457.UBUNTU6_i386_deb. Slapd will not start, zmfixperms and zmsshkeygen returns permission denied, sh -x `/bin/slapd will not force restart.
